This is my fourth time at Tao Garden. Every time I arrive it looks more lush. The gardeners are around all day. More plantings keep going in the ground. There also are stretches of lawns and a river and ponds with fantastic bridges of red enamel greeting you, as if to say, "Come on across and see what's here!" The weather was fantastic after flying over snow, endless white. But off the plane you can't even know what you are going to find with a half hour taxi ride. (I live in Florida myself yet there are no resorts edged by mountains where I live. You can walk the grounds and admire every nook and cranny filled with not only natural beauty, but amazing sculptures and vases and bonsai trees in porcelain bowls. You can be alone and you can meet people. You can learn wonderful teachings

We host a retreat in Tao Garden each November, and each year I feel like I am coming home. The first thing you notice as you arrive is the idyllic setting outside Chiang Mai, surrounded by rice fields and local temples and the lush grounds of the resort itself. Upon entering, you are greeted with the warm smiles of the helpful staff; they consistently go above and beyond my expectations and surprise me with thoughtful details. Meals are exceptional, featuring a wide variety of options buffet style for each meal. We stay two weeks at a time and never tire of the selection. The spa and wellness facilities are a treat for yourself to recharge and rebalance with a variety of relaxing and therapeutic treatments to choose from; plan your stay to include at least one treatment each day because you will want to sample as many as possible.

Beyond that....rent a bike to explore the area, hike to the nearby dam to enjoy the view, bask in the aromatherapy steam, work out in the gym, swim in the mineral pool, sip a fresh juice, take a morning Tai Chi class or an evening yoga class...

I simply loved my stay at Tao Gardens- it delivered everything I wanted- a serene and peaceful environment, where the gardens are lush and everything is in balance. The energy is palpable. The salt water pool was amazing. I particularly enjoyed the food- I am really into healthy eating so there was plenty of choice for me . I heard someone complain that there weren't any sandwiches for lunch- this is not the place for that, it is for those who are consciously choosing a better, healthier lifestyle. They did have wheat free bread and cater for all kinds of diets, I thought the choice was exceptional. My standard room was on the ground floor of one of the dormitory style blocks and overlooked a beautiful garden so it was a great place to come and relax in between treatments, I went for the detox and cleanse package and I have been to many places in the world and must say that the standard is one of the highest I have encountered. so if you are looking for a health retreat- a 'real ' one- which incorporated Chi Kung , diet and treatments for the mind, body and soul, this is the one.The staff are very friendly and efficient and helpful-I couldn't fault the place. It is a little on the expensive side, but hey, YOU are worth it! You must definitely try a Chi Nei Tsang Massage and if you are open to it, try a Karsai Nei Tsang one as well.
Room Tip: go for standard room - the extra over the simple room is worth it

The Tao Garden offers the weary soul a chance to experience a connection to nature and an opportunity to reconnect with self. If you are looking for entertainment such as TV and all of the modern distractions we are accustomed to, then this is not the place for you.
If you are looking for somewhere to experience something greater than our materialistic society and spend some real time getting to know yourself then you will not find a more fulfilling place to visit. For a deeper experience you should enroll in the Universal Healing Tao basics workshop and learn some skills that you can take home with you.

Regretful that we had to leave. Initially our stay at Tao Garden was only going to be for five days. Our objective was to relax and we certainly ticked that box. The staff were friendly and more than helpful and the meals were an enjoyment shared with great company. Whilst there I became familiar with Francesco (Tao Masa) and the Tao Kung Fu retreat he runs as an instructor. I was fortunate enough to have the oportunity to participate for a week so we extended our stay. The Kung Fu retreat was brilliant, I learn a soft and hard Qigong practice along with a Kung Fu form. Francesco is thoroughly engaging, he is dynamic and as an instructor he has an amazing ability to bring forth the best in a person. Thanks Francesco for your time and patience and for all the laughs.

I'm afraid I cannot be very objective while writing about Tao Garden - 'cause I'm in love with the place. Yes, it's all true about organic food, about efficient staff of doctors, dietologists and massagists, gorgeous landscape designs etc. There is no exaggeration in praising the place and people who work there. What makes Tao Garden precious for me is a unique atmosphere you can share with other students and guests. The atmosphere of loving care, understanding and acceptance. Whether you are a student of Grand Master Chia, or a guest of the spa resort, wherever you go, whoever you deal with, you are wrapped in the serenity of smiles and warmth of attitude. You are not client there, but a dear guest and a friend. My deepest gratitude to Grand Master Chia and the whole Tao Garden staff who created this miracle of harmony and happiness.

We are still here at Tao..thought i'd review it while still immersed in it!
We've been here for 2 nights and have 2 more to go, but have had like 4 massages each, blood analysis, hubby did the max pulse thingy..
We've done the signature Chi Nei Tsang Abdominal massage and i've moved my bowels twice(which is a good thing for me) and i really enjoyed the Tok Sen.
The other signature massage is the Karsai for sexual organs which my husband did. Hmmm....we'll see...;)
Staff is very friendly and do everything to ensure your comfort. They speak pretty good english, of course, some better than others.
Have also had a consultation with the doctor after the blood analysis and i think he knows his stuff.

This is the green ie. low season, so we got 4N for the price of 3. Its really hot this time of the year but we got used to it after a day.
Rented bicycles and that is the way to go...from massage to room to dining hall and even out to the village and dam.
Will visit the night market tomorrow night.

The package is for full board...room plus 3 buffet style meals a day, but after day 2 they decided they will go ala carte. The menu is quite limited and we got tired of it after 3 meals but the chef was very willing to cook something we requested so its not an issue. The food is pretty delicious and there are lots of health teas to choose from and every meal there is one or two new ones. They even have fruit tea bags for you to make your own and there are "tea kiosk"s in the exercise hall etc..
My only gripe about the food is that they do deep fry their food and reuse the oil. In my opinion, not good, for a health place.

The other thing is...the garden is beautiful...mature trees, lots of old bonsai lining the path.
However the decor is a little bit on the Toaism side...many statues of deities all over the place, so if you are one of those super religious people who are opposed to such things, then think again before coming. It didnt bother us though.

We booked a Natural Room, which is 2 star. The room is basic, with option for airconditioning (we took it after 1night) and decor is a little cheap, but the most important thing..the bed is nice and firm with smooth hotel quality sheets and the towels are nice and fluffy.
We noticed, though, that our bathroom is free viewing for all, no matter what we did to the windows! Fortunately there are only about 20 guests at this time so hope no one ventures out here!

Oh, one more thing i have to mention is that the staff treat everyone the same...unlike some places where they tend to give special treatment to caucasians. Bravo!

Overall, this is a pretty good set up. We feel very relaxed here...just eating and sleeping and massage...

I've been studying in Tao garden for seven weeks, become instructor and attending the "Darkroom retreat" for 3 weeks, and I really had a great time here. All the people form the staff are lovely, the place is ASTONISHING and the food is great. The SPA is so well organized and the treatment are really heartful and authentic, the food at dining hall is perfect, the room is cozy, and the teaching of Mantak Chia are superb: easy, effective, powerful.

I had a great time, made a great experience, meet great people. At Tao Garden living is easy. Hope to get back soon.

The Tao Garden had been suggested to me by my Chi Kung teacher, I attended Grandmaster Mantak Chia's retreat from Jan 15 to Jan 29, 2012 . My first comment to myself was "I'm going to come back for 4 weeks next time...". Master Chia is a wonderful teacher, the senior instructors, Yutta, Walter, Francesco just great and friendly and very patient, expecially Francesco,( I wasn't very good in Tai Chi), and then , the many other things that one can learn about feeling good , healthy, happy. I love massages and that's the place, I'm very active, big choice of activities , I loved among all the morning and evening practices. One, of course, can also just relax . Wonderful gardens, natural environment and healthy food and very very nice staff, Nok, Pern, Noo and all of them ready to make you happy, the girls at the clinic reception, whom I drove a bit crazy with all my questions, the herborist with all his boiling stuff in the pots.
I really recommend a lot that place!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I have been to Tao Garden in August 2011. It was the first time and I really enjoyed it. I especially liked the fruits that were served. They were mostly exotic fruits, very tasty. The place is quiet and very clean, there is nearly no pollution in the air. The treatments done there are truly efficient and the staff was very helpful and nice.I reccomend anyone to go there, it is a wonderful experience.
